Event and occurrence as two practical terms in risk and vulnerability issues are very important. The term event in the risk literature as a future event is a chance or situation that is possible but whose occurrence is not certain. However, the event can also be applied to the phenomena occurring or occurred. In a way, the event is used to describe a phenomenon in terms of its characteristics, dimensions, and geographical location. in other words, Event is recording of time and place of phenomenon which indicates the existence of a threat. An event occurs when the hazard is realized or becomes manifest. On the other hand, the occurrence, meaning existing, is the residual effect of an event. when the focus is on the statistical aspects such as probability of occurrence, frequency, repetition or extent of damage caused by that phenomenon, whether in the field of risk management or vulnerability assessment, the term occurrence is more useful.
