Trend Study of Drought in Shiraz Using DIP Software

Abstract

One of the most important natural hazards is drought, which is caused by climatic anomalies. The duration of a drought may vary from month to year. Therefore, by monitoring and evaluating drought, the damage caused by it can be reduced. In this paper, the drought situation of Shiraz has been studied annually using rainfall data in the period 1991 to 2020 using DIP software. The results of PNI index in 1993, 1996, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2014 and 2017 show the drought situation. Also, the drought situation was determined and described based on SPI, ZSI, CZI indices. These indices are consistent with each other, so that the results based on the mentioned indices show that in Shiraz, 2008 the most severe drought in the period The comment has happened. This year, the annual rainfall was 10.242 mm. In 1993 and 2017, drought occurred with a relatively lower situation than in 2008.
