Diversity study of Waterfowls and Waders in Hashilan Wetland

Abstract

Measurement of the biodiversity birds is a very important issue in ecology and wetland management. In this study investigated water birds’ fauna in Protected Area in Hashilan Wetland in 2019. The Hashilan Wetland is located on 36 km northwest of Kermanshah. It identified 36 species of birds that concerned to 6 orders and 10 families. Numbers were estimated 10 water birds and 26 shore birds. Based on results Hashilan wetland Protected Area supported abundant species during a year. the observation of rare and world endangered species like as Common Pochard (Aythya ferina), Eurasian Dotterel (Charadrius morinellus) and Black –tailed Godwit (Limosa limosa) show the importance of this habitat and locating on world important birds’ migration routes.
