Due to Iran's climatic conditions, more than 70 percent of Iran is characterized by arid and semi-arid climates, and considering its highly varied topography, most of the land area, excluding miscellaneous lands, belongs to three soil orders: Entisols, Aridisols, and Inceptisols. Alfisols and Mollisols occur exclusively on the northern slopes of the Alborz Mountains and within the coastal plains of the Caspian Sea, where humid to sub-humid climates prevail; together, these soils cover less than three percent of the country. Alfisols are well-suited for agriculture, rangeland management, forestry, and afforestation, but they have limited potential for warm-water and cold-water aquaculture and show no capability for shrimp farming. This order has high potential for rural and urban development, moderate suitability for industrial development, and is also favorable for tourism activities. Aridisols are unsuitable for dryland farming, forestry, afforestation, warm-water and cold-water aquaculture, and shrimp production. They show low to moderate potential for irrigated agriculture, rural development, and rangeland use. Urban development, rural expansion, and tourism are considered appropriate land uses for this soil order. Entisols have suitable potential for urban, industrial, and tourism development; however, they lack the capability for most other land uses. Only limited rangeland use and restricted rural development are considered feasible. Inceptisols have moderate to good capability for agriculture and rangeland management. They are also suitable for forestry and afforestation, but are not appropriate for any form of aquaculture. Their potential for urban and industrial development is low, while they offer moderate suitability for rural development and high tourism potential. Mollisols are well suited to most land uses except aquaculture, for which they show little to no capability. Vertisols are unsuitable for rural, urban, and industrial development as well as forestry and afforestation. However, due to their high natural fertility, they offer strong potential for irrigated and dryland farming and for rangeland management. They show little capability for aquaculture or tourism development. Miscellaneous lands are unsuitable for all major land uses but may possess significant potential for tourism due to their unique natural features. 12 رده اصلی خاک، در جهان وجود دارد که تنها ۷ رده در خاک‌های کشور ایران شناسایی شده‌ است. با توجه به شرایط اقلیمی ایران که بیش از ۷۰ درصد آن را اقلیم نیمه‌خشک و خشک تشکیل می‌دهد و نیز با در نظر گرفتن شرایط شدید توپوگرافی، بخش عمدۀ سطح کشور -پس از اراضی متفرقه- به سه رده آنتی‌سول، اریدی‌سول و اینسپتی‌سول تعلق دارد. خاک‌های آلفی‌سول و مالی‌سول منحصراً در شیب شمالی رشته‌کوه البرز و دشت‌های ساحلی دریای خزر که دارای اقلیم مرطوب و نیمه‌مرطوب است تشکیل می‌شود و مساحت آن‌ها از ۳ درصد مساحت کشور تجاوز نمی‌کند. خاک‌های آلفی‌سول برای کشاورزی، مرتع‌داری، جنگل‌داری و جنگل‌کاری مناسب است، اما برای آبزی‌پروری گرمابی و سردابی قابلیت اندکی دارد و توان پرورش میگو در آن مشاهده نمی‌شود. رده آلفی‌سول برای توسعۀ روستایی و شهری توان بالا و برای توسعۀ صنعتی قابلیت متوسط دارد و برای توسعۀ گردشگری نیز مناسب است. خاک‌های اریدی‌سول برای دیم‌کاری، جنگل‌داری، جنگل‌کاری، آبزی‌پروری سردابی و گرمابی و نیز پرورش میگو نامناسب است و برای کشاورزی آبی، توسعۀ روستایی و مرتع‌داری قابلیت ضعیف تا متوسط نشان می‌دهد. توسعۀ شهری، روستایی و گردشگری کاربری‌های مناسب این رده محسوب می‌شود. آنتی‌سول‌ها برای توسعۀ شهری، توسعۀ صنعتی و گردشگری توان مناسب دارد، اما برای سایر کاربری‌ها فاقد توان است و تنها مرتع‌داری و توسعۀ روستایی به‌صورت محدود قابل بهره‌برداری است. اینسپتی‌سول‌ها برای کشاورزی و مرتع‌داری توان متوسط تا خوب دارد. این خاک برای جنگل‌داری و جنگل‌کاری توان مناسب نشان می‌دهد، اما برای انواع آبزی‌پروری نامناسب است و برای توسعۀ شهری و صنعتی ظرفیت پایینی دارد. توان آن برای توسعۀ روستایی متوسط و برای گردشگری بالا ارزیابی می‌شود. مالی‌سول‌ها برای اکثر کاربری‌ها مناسب است و تنها برای انواع آبزی‌پروری توان نشان نمی‌دهد. ورتی‌سول‌ها برای توسعۀ روستایی، شهری، صنعتی، جنگل‌داری و جنگل‌کاری نامناسب است، اما حاصلخیزی بالایی برای گسترش کشاورزی آبی، دیم و مرتع‌داری دارد. برای آبزی‌پروری و توسعۀ گردشگری نیز توان قابل‌ توجهی دیده نمی‌شود. اراضی متفرقه برای هیچ‌یک از کاربری‌ها مناسب نیست، اما به‌دلیل وجود پدیده‌های منحصربه‌فرد می‌تواند برای گردشگری توان داشته باشد. https://biosepehrsj.ut.ac.ir/article_101805_02ac4e3a8ae5c3bbbb28633ec1a1599d.pdf
